Science
Our product research relies on university labs, think tanks, government bodies, and HR associations. We programmed a custom Google search engine that you can also use to explore our sources.
Our research team and interns reviewed thousands of sources to identify more than 200 unique papers and experiments that backed our assertions and supported our ML/AI feature engineering.
A handful of our favorite findings include:
[1] Almost 50% of the variability in worker engagement could be predicted by people’s personality.
[2] Measure of conscientiousness on top of IQ allows one to explain 36% of a potential new hire’s eventual job performance.
[3] Person-job fit has a strong positive correlation to job satisfaction; that is, the better the fit, the higher the employee’s level of job satisfaction.
[4] Having a sense of purpose and enjoying day-to-day work rate more highly than level of pay among U.S. workers' criteria for job quality.
[5] The seven top characteristics of success at Google are all soft skills. Project Oxygen shocked everyone by concluding that, among the eight most important qualities of top employees, STEM expertise comes in dead last.
